2020The Potential of Light and Sound Meditation
(i) The Potential of Light and Sound Meditation
In this article we use analogy to show the potential of Light and Sound Meditation. This meditation allows us to have access to faster dimensions. This new dimension is not only faster than the one we knew before Initiation, it is also massive and ‘gets bigger’ as we progress through the Initiations. Of course, it isn’t really getting bigger, it just appears that way as the limits of creation are transcended and we have access to greater and greater levels of consciousness, until they are all transcended on Enlightenment. This progressive expansion and transcendence brings about a process of enquiry, a wonderful opportunity to be consumed by the Light and Sound and so ‘become’ the knowledge that it holds.
(ii) The Solidification of Light and Sound into Matter
The Light and Sound we all witness is the same and is untainted by our apparent individuality. Within each aura, the luminance and resonance of the Light and Sound precipitate to form Kundalini Energy, these liquefy to form blood and solidify to form flesh. This process occurs as luminance and resonance become the human body. The individuality of body and emotion that we display actually arise from the Kundalini energy, and ultimately form the light and sound itself. So ultimately there is no uniqueness for one’s personal identity as we all have the same source.
(iii) Becoming Rooted in Higher Dimensions
As we become consumed by increasingly faster dimensions, rather than simply observing or being overwhelmed by them, then our process of enquiry into who we are results in a massive expansion of consciousness. We then have a choice; either explore that massive state or in effect ignore it and carry on with our life unaffected and unchanged by what is happening to us in meditation. By choosing to explore and develop our meditation to its fullest brings us the opportunity to channel the LOVE that exists on higher levels thus refining our body , mind and emotions and making us a better conduit for spirit.
By using our meditation on the Light and Sound in this way we have the added benefit of making our lives more stable and enjoyable because a greater part of us, by proportion, is rooted in the deeper levels of consciousness, unaffected by the turmoil of the mind, emotions and physicality. This in effect causes our sense of identity, of whom and what we are, to be rooted within the environment of the light and sound, rather than that of the many small environments that make up the sensory world.
The intention is not to become unemotional, but to be able to experience the whole range of human emotions without being consumed by them. The emotions exists within a very small space compared to the levels of light and sound, and if we remain rooted in the latter we will be able to put the mind and emotions down more easily when we sit down to meditate.
(iv) Exploring in Meditation
Realisations happen in meditation when we contact the light and sound however in our everyday life, outside of meditation realisations can be sparked as our true self, the light and sound, influences our personal self, allowing us to perceive form without the barrier of the senses.
As we look around our room we see colour, shapes, angles, movement and we use various tools to piece together what we see to make sense to us. These tools can include comparison, separation, concentration and imagination. Realisation can also come about using intuition.
Realizations occur because as we sit within the light and sound we are not just observing and exploring, our vehicles are being reordered and refined.
(v) Transcending our Identity Explained Using Analogy
Throughout our lives we take our sense of identity we find ourselves in. Without access to the light and sound this identity can be restricted to the personal self, consisting of the senses, the mind and the emotions. If we entertain the possibility of stepping outside the realm of sense perception in order to achieve an expansion of consciousness, we open up to a whole new set of possibilities in terms of a much larger identity.
Changes that occur as a result of transcendence are beyond thought and therefore we cannot think about them we can only be them.
One way to look at this is to consider the creation or form as a series of balloons floating within each other. Starting with the largest balloon, each balloon encapsulates a space plus all the balloons smaller than itself, and their spaces. The smallest balloon represents the personal self. In order for the smallest balloon to observe the larger space that surrounds it, it would have to step outside itself to gain a greater identity and perspective. This can only happen if the small balloon is popped, or transcended, in which case the true nature of the larger balloon is revealed, and taken as the new identity of the smallest balloon. It has claimed the environment of the larger balloon as its own.
So in the image below, when the inner blue balloon is popped, it takes on the space and identity of the large clear balloon whilst giving up its own :
This process gives us our realisations in meditation as we transcend limits to find ever larger identities within the planes of light and sound. Taking the balloon analogy one step further, the little balloon does not rely on observation for its new identity, nor does it have to remember to be the bigger balloon; nor does it rely on comparison with other balloons for an understanding of what it is. It has become the space encapsulated by the bigger balloon.
If all the balloons were transcended in this way by the smaller balloon what would be left would be unlimited space that supported all the balloons, and this unlimited space would have unity since there would be no boundaries or edges or parts. When we realise this in meditation on the light and sound we term this Enlightenment which gives us tremendous freedom and the potential of Light and Sound meditation has been fulfilled.

This has a more sedentary feel than the Thoth Hermit Tarot Card although the principle is the same in both.
(iv) Thoth Hermit Tarot Card and The Tree of Life
The Hermit connects Chesed to Tiphareth, the 20th path. Chesed is on the pillar of Mercy which is the masculine pillar and Tiphareth is associated with Christ or sacrificial Gods. Tiphareth is also ruled by the Sun which is also masculine. There is the idea of GROWTH contained in the Hermit as Chesed is constructive and Geburah destructive.
(v) Thoth Hermit Tarot Card Hebrew and Elemental Attribution
The Thoth Hermit Tarot Card is attributed to the letter Yod, which means the Hand. which is in the centre of the picture.
The letter Yod is the foundation of all the other letters of the Hebrew alphabet, which are merely combinations of it.
Crowley states in the Book of Thoth :
The letter Yod is the first letter of the name Tetragrammaton, and this symbolizes the Father, who is Wisdom; he is the highest form of Mercury, and the Logos, the Creator of all worlds. Accordingly, his representative in physical life is the spermatozoon; this is why the card is called The Hermit.
In this sense the Hermit is Masculine although in terms of its astrological attribution VIRGO, it also has a feminine side. Virgo is associated with the body, health, personal development. It is ruled by Mercury which is also EXALTED in Virgo.
Mercury = the LOGOS = the word or will of God which implies CREATIVITY attributes to the Hermit.
Mercury the God was said to guide the souls of the dead through the underworld. He is a mediator between the living and the dead. This relates to the legend of Persephone (see 3 of cups tutorial). Persephone is trapped in Hades which is in darkness and is led back into the world of the living by the God Mercury.
In practical terms the Hermit is the Will of our higher consciousness which work silently within us to take us out of the ignorance of Hades (or lower consciousness). It is encouraging us to take a step back and analyse/introspect/contemplate (Virgo with Mercury influence) our life
Virgo is also associated with Prudence (see 8 of disks tutorial) and prudence has been associated with wisdom
Wisdom = also connected with Chockmah, the 2nd sephiroth of the Tree of Life and Chockmah is known as the Father which is the same name as Yod is given in the Tetragrammaton.
(vi) Thoth Hermit Tarot Card Symbolism
Hermit = implies solitude and independence. This wisdom imparted through the connection with ones higher self happens silently in this card not outwardly. Like we see in the 8 of disks (Prudence) and agriculture it is like planting the seed and letting it bear fruit. So this wisdom grows within us over time.
Yod shape of Hermit = Yod is the seed of the tetragrammaton and therefore the Hermit is the seed of wisdom within man.
Wheat = in background links in agriculture, Virgo , Persephone. Growth of wheat = growth of inner wisdom so we are surrounded by the wisdom of our insights gained by inner contemplation
Ibis Head of Hermit = Ibis was associated with Thoth in Egyptian mythology. Thoth is the God of the written word
Diamond lantern = a symbol once again of Kether. Tiphareth is the direct descended or highest expression of Kether within us. This is where Christ being the Word of God manifested is derived from.
Sun = mentioned above, but is also in the lantern covering the genitals like in the Fool card suggesting the Hermit uses the Light of spirit in creative ways to learn more about himself and his place in the world. The Sun has 8 wavy and 8 straight rays emanating from it. The number 8 links it with Hod the 8th sephiroth on the Tree, which is ruled by Mercury
Yellow rays from lantern = one energizes the spermatozoon in the lower left corner, another the apex of the pyramid, the third illuminates Cerberus or the lower nature indicating the dead phallus after ejaculation. The fourth ray points to the Orphic Egg a fertilized egg with all the potential of life inside and thus we have a completed cycle
spermatozoon = the wand of the Hermit representing the potential of life.
foetus in sperm cell = goes back to old beliefs that a sperm cell contained a tiny complete human called a homunculus.
diamond in spermatozoon = link to KETHER , spirit, purity :
Kether also connects to Tiphareth on the middle pillar and the Sun.
Cerberus = the three headed dog looking in all different directions. They represent three qualities of the lower self.He has been tamed by the Hermit
Head looking forward with mouth open = speech
Middle head = thought (is higher than the other two) and thought is above action and speech.
Head looking back = action
The whole idea about the inclusion of Cerberus in this card is the taming of the lower self and raising it to be a vehicle for expression of the higher self so that we are an effective channel for spirituality into the world.
Orphic Egg = is a symbol of the manifested universe but in this case is the subjective universe of the individual. The Hermit is looking straight into it to learn more about himself. The egg is green the colour of Venus which rules the 7th sephiroth, Netzach, the opposite of Mercury and Hod, the 8th Sephiroth.
Two rays of Light at top of card = do not emanate from the lamp. These are white compared to the yellow rays of the lamp
Pyramid = formed by top white ray. The pyramid stands for the phallus and each corner is energised by rays of the lantern indicating the energization of the phallus from the creative potential of the sun.
Lower white ray = the horizon
(viii) The Hermit and Numberology
The Hermit is the ninth card or key of wisdom and the number 9 is significant to the meaning of this card and is the number that always returns to itself :
3 x 3 = 9
9 x 2 = 18 , 1 + 8 = 9
9 x 3 = 27 , 2 + 7 = 9
9 x 4 = 36 , 3 + 6 = 9
Translated into the meaning of the Hermit we have the axiom that there is only the self to return to for all answers. There is nothing that lies outside of the self and yet that is where we tend to look for completion.
(ix) The Adjustment to The Hermit Transition
Adjustment is the balance and harmony that results from the actions of the charioteer. In the process he has had the vision to cut away all that does not serve him to make room for that which does.
The Hermit is all about withdrawing within in doing this the Fool forms a bridge between his outer an inner world. In the previous card Adjustment he has removed from his external world what is not serving him and in the Hermit he goes to connect within and has tamed his lower nature (Cerberus) so he can be a better expression for spirituality in the world.
(x) Thoth Hermit Tarot Card Divinatory Meanings
Thoth Hermit Upright
Getting away from a situation in order to get better insight into it.
Getting illumination(lamp) and insight into a situation in which you were previously in the dark.
Spending time on your own, withdrawing to your still inner centre to gain insight into yourself. A time perhaps for soul searching as to what may give your life most meaning.
The need to get in touch with your untapped wisdom.
Thoth Hermit Reversed
The need to get out more into the world as you have become too isolated and introspective. Following on from this is being so self absorbed that you may be ignoring other people’s needs.
Not in touch with your inner guide
Too much secrecy and not being open about yourself.
Being single but desiring a relationship , or being in a relationship and not having enough space to be on your own for personal reflection.
(xi) Thoth Hermit Tarot Card in the Celtic Cross Spread
1: Heart of the Situation = a calling for much soul searching within to discover what has most meaning for you
2: Possible obstacle = too much going on in your life so you have little time to spend along connecting with yourself
3: Unconscious Influences = frightened of being on ones own
4: Recent Past = spent a lot of time on your own introspecting, perhaps feeling isolated at the same time
5: Hopes and goals = to be connected with your inner wisdom and to love yourself more
6: Short Term Future = need time out to re-evaluate life
7: Our Self Image in this situation = you feel the need to spend more time on your own.
8: Environment = isolated at the moment. Isolated from others and our inner voice
9: Guidance & Warning = if you don’t create space and find some down time it may have consequences for your health
10: Overall Outcome = being connected with our inner wisdom and feeling far more independent and self sufficient without having to rely on others

20Jews Are Gods Chosen People
(i) Jews Are Gods Chosen People Introduction
We are told that Jews Are Gods Chosen People but this is misinterpreted as relating to a race of people who is not what Bible Scripture is actually says. In this article we will look at scripture interpretation and what is meant by the words Israel, Jew and Jerusalem and how interpretation of the scripture in a literal way has led to much religious hatred and misunderstanding.
(ii) The Spiritual Meaning of Jerusalem in Biblical Scripture
Galatians 4 : 25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.
This is talking about a literal city which is in bondage and therefore not free. This is like any other city , in bondage to the material side of life.
26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
This implies there are two Jerusalem’s.
Above = spiritual and therefore represents higher consciousness, free from worldly attachments. Above also implies the higher chakras which make access to spiritual planes possible.
We may ask what is a Jew ?
If we look at a definition of a Jew on the internet we find something along the lines of :
a member of the people and cultural community whose traditional religion is Judaism and who trace their origins to the ancient Hebrew people of Israel.
But this is completely wrong in terms of what the Bible is meaning by the word Jew. Lets look at some scripture to clarify this point but first we will look at the relationship of Israel and being a Jew.
(iii) Spiritual Meaning of Israel in Biblical Scripture
Israel is a word made up of three Egyptian words, Isis, Ra, and EL
Isis is the feminine or spirit,
Ra is the masculine or body and brain, and so we have the male Sun God Amen Ra below
El is God whose angels names all end with EL and as an example we have the angel Gabriel :
In Summary:
Israel = body and spirit together with God and Nothing to do with Israel the Country.
(iv) Jews Are Gods Chosen People Spiritual Meaning
Romans 2 : 28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
Do religious people ever read these verses ? This is CLEARLY STATING that physical circumcision has nothing to do with being a Jew and neither has any outward appearance. It is an INNER state of being.
Romans 2 29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
circumcision not of the letter = circumcision should not happen literally , not in the flesh. It is of the heart, cutting away the lower desires and purifying our consciousness.
In meditation we circumcise the heart by cutting away these desires and thoughts of our lower nature. It is a purification process and so religious physical circumcision is totally misguided :
Jew (Gods chosen ones) comes from the word Judah. Lets look at how the Tribe of Judah is spoken about in the Bible :
Numbers 2 : 3 And on the east side toward the rising of the sun shall they of the standard of the camp of Judah pitch throughout their armies: and Nahshon the son of Amminadab shall be captain of the children of Judah.
Lets look at the compass to understand what is going on here :
East = on the RIGHT side = right side in which we here the sound current within. The right hemisphere of the brain is the spiritual side (Garden of Eden is on the East , Vineyard on Right side, Jesus said cast your net to the right side)
Camp = the place where ones consciousness resides.
Judah or Jews camp at the east side on the Spiritual side. This is the Kingdom of LIGHT which resides inside of us.
Look at the following verse to confirm this :
Numbers 2 : 9 All that were numbered in the camp of Judah were a hundred thousand and fourscore thousand and six thousand and four hundred, throughout their armies. These shall first set forth.
100, 000 + (4 score thousand) = 80, 000 + 6000 + 400 = 186, 400
This is very close to the speed of Light . Light travels at a constant, finite speed of 186,000 mi/sec.
The Kingdom of Judah is therefore the Kingdom of LIGHT which is the spiritual Light which can be meditated upon and was referred to as the Christ Consciousness.
This is seen again in the following verse :
Joshua 19 : 34 And then the coast turneth westward to Aznothtabor, and goeth out from thence to Hukkok, and reacheth to Zebulun on the south side, and reacheth to Asher on the west side, and to Judah upon Jordan toward the sunrising.
Judah toward the sun rising = the east or right hemisphere of the brain = higher consciousness. When the sun rises as in springtime, life is energised and blossoms. In the west as the sun sets darkness comes. This represents the intellect which blots out the Inner spiritual light in meditation. So east = spirit, west = mind.
(v) Summary of Jews Are Gods Chosen People
The Bible is telling us that a Jew refers to someone who inwardly has circumcised or removed the desires of their lower nature and therefore purified their heart. They have their consciousness (camping) in the right spiritual side (east) where they dwell in the spiritual Light of God (186,000) where body and spirit reside together with God (Israel).
Jews Are Gods Chosen People = a spiritual person who resides in their higher consciousness and has detached from the world inwardly.

20Biblical Astrology of Taurus
(i) Biblical Astrology of Taurus Introduction
In this article we look at interpreting the Biblical Astrology of Taurus as part of a complete series looking into the twelve zodiac signs and how they are represented in Biblical text.
The three decans of Taurus are:
1. Orion (Light)
2. Eridanus (The River)
3. Auriga (The Shepherd)
These are all part of the Bull constellation :
Bull = we have to plough through life with stubbornness and determination to reach our goals at times and yet the resistance of the Ego to dissolve in spirit is also a battle.
(ii) The Three Decans of Taurus
1. Orion The First Decan of Taurus
Orion Belt = formed from the 3 stars across the centre. The Light of Orion is the most brilliant of all the constellations.
Aratus = a Greek Poet is represented in the verse below:
Bull = your Ego, that which you have to conquer. Taurus is represented in the Book of Job:
Job 38 : 31 Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?
loose the bands of Orion = can you loosen the light (Spirit) of Orion that is in bondage by the lower nature ?
In the centre of the bull, as in the centre of our ego there is a light of the spirit and can be let this shine through our ego ?
In this way the restrictions of Taurus are overcome.
Christ said :
Matthew 6 : 22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
Once the light of the single eye shines through it leads us to ever greater states of consciousness.
Looking back at the decan ,Orion’s left foot is raised as if to crush his enemy :
What is the symbolism of the foot ?
Genesis 3 : 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
enmity = hostility
woman = spirit
Orion (the light within) is ready to battle the lower self (serpent) by raising his left foot and remove enmity (hostility, separation) between man and spirit and so his consciousness is raised.
There is also the Golden Girdle which is evident in the Orion constellation.
Golden Girdle = around the abdomen of Orion seen in the image above and is spoken about in the verse below:
Revelation 1 : 13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
7 candlesticks = 7 chakras
sword = also carried by Orion
Isaiah 27 : 1 In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.
His sword can be seen more clearly in the image below :
The head of the sword is in the shape of a Lamb.
Revelation 17 : 14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them:
Lamb = higher mind, Goats = lower mind
Club = in the right hand of Orion = the spiritual right side, power of spirit. Garden of Eden within is in the East (right side of the brain)
Left hand = holds the head of a Lion (or lower consciousness). Peter talks about Satan as being a roaring Lion :
1st Peter 5 : 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Betelgeuse = brightest star on Orion’s left shoulder means ‘the branch’ (Bullinger). The branch is mentioned in the verse below :
Zechariah 3 : 8 Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH.
BRANCH = in capital letters and so what does it mean ? Look at the following verse :
John 15 : 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Branch = us, and so the brightest star in the sky within each of us and represents the spiritual potential shining through.
Regal = star in the left foot of Orion and means “that which crushes”.
2. Eridanus The Second Decan of Taurus
Called the River of the Judge
Achernar = the brightest star meaning mouth of the river
Zaurak = flowing
Cursa = bent down

This decan reflects the river of energy which flows from our higher consciousness down into the lower.
In the image below we see a claw on the right side trying to stop the river :
Claw = of Cetus the monster of the lower depths and represents the reaction of the lower nature to prevent the expression of the higher within us a full image can be seen below :
However the river still flows so he does not stop the highest essence shining through us. The ancients called Eridanus the river which flows from the great light
This is a river of Fire as seen in the verse below:
Daniel 7 : 10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgement was set, and the books were opened.
fiery stream = spirit
judgement = karma acts once written
books opened = wisdom streaming forth from spirit.
3. Auriga The Third Decan of Taurus
One large goat can be seen on his shoulder and 2 smaller goats underneath. The goat is trying to climb upwards (into the higher consciousness) and the smaller goats represents the newness of consciousness that results when one contacts spirit. This is read in the Bible as below :
Matthew 21 :
1 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,
Jerusalem = higher consciousness
2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.
ass = lower nature and its stubbornness that finds change difficult.
colt = virgin consciousness within us.
The Shepherd = Taurus quality which protects the old (ass) and your new consciousness (colt) and protects/guides them.
Some Biblical verses that illustrate this are:

Alioth (she-goat) = brightest star in this third decan and represents the human spirit in the arms of the shepherd.
Elnath = bright star in his right foot meaning “wounded” which goes back to the Christ nature which is wounded as it touches the earth metaphorically, although in its highest sense remains untouched.
(iii) Biblical Astrology of Taurus Summary
Taurus represents our earthly nature and ego. In the Old Testament it talks about the sacrifice of the bull which relates to the sacrifice of the ego in man. This is another demonstration of Burnt Offerings as the ecliptic (sun, fire of God) passes through Taurus (ego) and dissolves it so that mans consciousness is raised.
In Summary we have the spiritual fire ( Eridanus River) which flows down from our spiritual source Orion(bright star) and the flocks go to the shepherd (Auriga) to be saved lower consciousness transmutes into the higher through inner spiritual guidance from God.

(ii) Thoth Adjustment Tarot Card
The Thoth Adjustment Tarot Card is very much about free will, choice and the universal action of karmic balancing (Adjustment) with respect to the choices we all make throughout life.
Our choices can be from a wide range of possibilities represented by the alpha and omega of the card, but in order to make the most enlightened choice for us, our actions must be in resonance with our true will, which simply put is the main life lesson for which we have incarnated this time.
It is merging of the free will of us as human beings with the true will of the Soul
which has been set up for our particular life purpose.
(iii) Rider Waite Justice Card
The Rider Waite Tarot Card is related to Libra, the air sign representing the intellect and balance. In the left hand the scales imply a situation to be assessed and balanced on the facts. In the right hand the sword indicates an act of judgement or even further analysis, dissecting the facts as they present themselves. The message here relates to human judgement of a situation.
(iv) Differences between Thoth Adjustment Tarot Card and Rider Waite Justice
Justice = a judgement is about to happen. It implies a decision of legal implications perhaps is and very much to do with the discretion of man and his personal judgement based on the facts.
Adjustment = implies karmic cause and effect in a much more impersonal and universal way. The judgement has already been made as there is balance in the card as seen in the symmetry. Harmony has been established after disharmony has been cut away by her sword.
(v) Thoth Adjustment Hebrew and Astrological Attribution
The Adjustment Tarot Card is ruled by LIBRA which emphasises the energy of this card being about equilibrium, karmic cause & effect, bringing a situation into balance, weighing the pros and cons.
Adjustment is associated with the Hebrew letter LAMED meaning OX-GOAD. The goad is a traditional farming implement used to spur or guide livestock, usually oxen, which are pulling a plough or a cart; used also to round up cattle. It is a type of long stick with a pointed end, also known as the cattle prod.
In some ways this card can represent a form of RESTRICTION as the Ox is restricted to go in the direction of the Ox-Goad implying the Adjustment card is about self control.
Astrologically this card is associated with LIBRA which is ruled by Venus. She is the Goddess of beauty and Tiphareth also means beauty. There is beauty in the underlying balance of the universe if we look for it in whatever way we can.
(vi) Thoth Adjustment Card & The Tree of Life
Path 22: The Path of Faithful Intelligence
This refers to the intelligence of the cosmic life force carried forth in the Fool Tarot Card giving intelligence and directed action to the whole of creation. This is explained more fully in the section on the relationship of the Adjustment Card to the Fool.
The Path of Geburah to Tiphareth
Adjustment occupies the path between Geburah and Tiphareth as shown above.
Geburah = The destroyer, represented by the Sword.
Tiphareth = The heart of man, Christ Consciousness, the Third Eye connecting all other paths on the Tree of Life.
Implied in this is that we have to follow our true will and bring some order into the chaos and infinite possibilities of the Fool. Following our true will is like aligning to our life’s calling, the best possible expression of who we can be.
In doing this we use the destructive power of Geburah to peel away all those aspects of our life which are not serving our highest good so we become more focussed on our true path and reveal what is in our heart centre (Tiphareth), hence the term ADJUSTMENT. This links in with the fact that this action must be borne out of LOVE as stated in the Book of the Law described below.
This may also occur karmically with circumstances beyond our conscious control if we go too far off our path. This process happens on every level and so we have a universal law stating every action has a consequence and the universe adjusts to the change. Examples may include global warming, COVID and the effects of warfare on nature to name but a few.
The figure in the card is also the He Final of the Tetragrammaton and therefore the lower consciousness. However as we have seen in previous videos she is reabsorbed into the Tetragrammaton and the cycle is repeated, this implies a process of raising our consciousness with this card so we are expressing our higher self through Adjustment and following our true will when the lower self (Princess) dies to become the Queen (our mature self). This cycle can be represented in the image below:
(vii) Relationship of Adjustment & The Fool
- If the letters are reversed they become LA which means Nothing in Hebrew.
- If we have LA (nothing) = 0 and God (the totality, including duality ) = 2 then we have the Thelemic equation 0 =2.
- This can be seen in the 2 of disks card. So this links in with the balance between opposites and trying to achieve balance in one’s life.
- AL is also linked with A = Aleph = Ox and L = Lamed Ox Goad which keeps the Ox moving in the right direction as outlined above.
- AL also stands for the Name of the Book of the Law Liber AL. The main axiom of the Book of the Law is “Love is the Law, The Law Under Will”. With respect to the Adjustment Card, Love is the reconciliation of opposites through karmic balancing.
The diamond curtain in the Adjustment card links it with the diamond in the right hand of the Fool as shown below:
(viii) Thoth Adjustment Tarot Card Symbolism
Mask & Leggings with crossed diamonds = HARLEQUIN
The Harlequin is characterized by his chequered costume. She is the feminine counterpart of the Fool.
Crowley says in the Book of Thoth p87:
“She is the ultimate illusion which is manifestation, she is the dance..of life itself.. All possibilities are enjoyed under the phantom show of space and time”
Crown of Maat
Uraeus Serpent (on her forehead) = Not seen in the final draft of the card but the concept is explained in the image below:
Sword =
- Masculine, phallic symbol between her legs simulating procreation. This is how the daughter (He final) becomes the mother (He) as shown in the Tetragrammaton cycle above.
- Represents the Will of man and reflects the Book of the Law quote: “Love is the Law, The Law Under Will”.
- The destructive weapon of Geburah, cutting away that which is not useful to the spiritual seeker and therefore creating something new, leaner and more useful.
Green Background = This card is associated with Libra which is ruled by Venus. Libra represents autumn, a time of year when there are bright colours in nature. Crowley wanted to convey this message in the card.
Alpha and Omega = balanced on scales on her crown and show the beginning and ending of possibilities that are open to us. We must choose wisely and follow our life purpose.
Black chains = the influence of Saturn which is exalted in Libra. Saturn is connected to time, which is the context in which the dynamic nature of the universe takes place. Saturn also implies the discipline and focus required to follow ones true will (sword) to bring about harmony in one’s life (balanced scales).
Blue and Green Spheres = in balance representing the masculine and feminine energies respectively. They are in groups of 4 representing the fourth Sephiroth Chesed which also imples time, space and restriction.
Feathered Curtain = extending from the spheres of duality. The slightest action distrubes them and the equilibrium of the universe.
(ix) The Chariot to Adjustment Transition
The Chariot is about Victory after using ones inner drive and will power to accomplish goals. Adjustment is the balance and harmony that results from the actions of the Charioteer. In the process he has had the vision to cut away all that does not serve him to make room for that which does. Alternatively, if these are reversed we see that following a path in life that is not constructive would result in disharmony and unbalance.
(x) Thoth Adjustment Divinatory Meanings
Aleister Crowley changed the name of this tarot card from Justice to Adjustment, indicating that justice is not a passive concept and we maintain the balance in our lives by adjusting to our ever-changing life circumstances. In this way, maintaining balance is an active process rather than a passive one. It is not something that happens to us but something we make happen and requires constant assessment and adjustment on our part.
Adjustment is about self-control and self-order and in order to maintain harmony in our life. The Adjustment Tarot Card encourages us to look at personal responsibility in regards to what happens to us. We see this with the idea of Karma in which every action has some sort of reaction, whether it is in this life or from a past life or in a future life Thus, every act we do has consequences.
It is this process of constant assessment and balancing which opens us to spiritual expansion.
Adjustment Upright Meaning
1. Taking stock of our life and seeing what things are useful and what can be let go of that is no longer serving us. Using the sword (WILL) to be decisive in taking action to re establish harmony and balance, even if this means breaking ties with certain people or breaking habits that are proving destructive to your well being.
2. Think carefully about your life ahead and be aware that all actions/decisions have their consequences. Look at this happening personally and in the world around you. Encourage yourself to see Karma acting on many different levels. Modern day examples might include global warming, COVID, the effects of war, the support of aid organisations or organisations for climate change. All of these are acting in a far bigger universe that just our personal space. Get a feel for how nature acts to restore balance.
3. Some of the principles of Maat are truth, order, justice, righteousness and morality. Are you living by your own personal truth or are your actions steering you away from this path? Be aware that ALL of your actions matter. Like the butterfly effect, every thought or action you have will produce a Karmic effect:
Adjustment Reversed Meaning
1. Our life is out of balance and harmony. We need to recognise this but also be gentle with ourselves to make the necessary changes to get back on track and become inspired by life again.
Take time out, a step back, and see what the results of your actions are both on yourself and others. Use this as a learning curve to improve your awareness in the moment, becoming stiller, like the figure in the card. Meditation is a great way to slow down and become more conscious.
2. Refusal to change (Saturn/restrictive) to life’s circumstances. Even though you are reaping the consequences of actions which are not productive, you have put up barriers to change and have got stuck in a rut.
3. It could be that the actions of others are having an unbalancing effect on your life and you have not addressed this situation (unlike the upright meaning when action has been taken to rectify harmony).
(xi) Thoth Adjustment in the Celtic Cross Spread
1: Heart of the Situation = the importance of finding once most important path in life
2: Possible obstacle = too many obstacles to what we really want to do
3: Unconscious Influences = perhaps lost faith in our true path or our ability to reach our goals
4: Recent Past = divorce/marriage
5: Hopes and goals = to have harmony in our life once again
6: Short Term Future = legal decisions or a decision to make which will have legal implications
7: Self Image in this situation = making decisions to reach a better balance in our life.
8: Environment = impending legal matter for the better, as mentioned above or change in job or house.
9: Guidance & Warning = the need to find our true path in life and make the neccesary decisions to effect that change.
10: Overall Outcome = harmony, balance, following ones true purpose in life.

20Biblical Astrology of Sagittarius
(i) Biblical Astrology of Sagittarius Introduction
In this article we look at interpreting the Biblical Astrology of Sagittarius as part of a complete series looking into the twelve zodiac signs and how they are represented in Biblical text. Sagittarius is the sign that calls us to follow our spiritual nature. Life opens as a journey to a definite goal. They are described in the bible in :
They can have vivid dreams, imagination and visions and are very receptive to spirituality. Can use higher mind to add to their wisdom.However this movement of the mind can cause difficulty when meditating as although they love spiritual things, stillness can be illusive to them.
In the lower expression of Sagittarius it might come out as a physical speed as in sports and this movement that characterises them can cause them to be susceptible to breakdowns if they do not slow down and take stock when they are stressed mentally.

(ii) Decoding the Sagittarius Glyph
Sagittarius means THE ARCHER.
He is a centaur, with the lower body of a horse and the torso of a man. They represent the lower and higher consciousness respectively.
It can be seen as in the images below:
The 3 decans of Sagittarius are called :
- Lyra (The Harp)
- Ara (The Alter)
- Draco (The Dragon)
Sagittarius consists of the Horse and the Man

arrow = spiritual will directed
Sagittarius is mentioned in the Book of Revelation :
Revelation 6 : 2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
Describes the Sagittarius Archer
Psalm 58 : 7 Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces.
bendeth his bow = building up spiritual force of Om through meditation or spiritual practice.
shoot his arrows = directing them to destroy thought and emotions of the lower mind.
In the image below the ECLIPTIC is going through the head of the Archer:
The ecliptic is the route of the sun and as it passes through Sagittarius and it illuminates the head (higher consciousness) of the archer. This is important as it energises and galvanises the higher centres in man which makes Sagittarius ready to evolve spiritually.
Where does Sagittarius aim his arrow in the sky ? We can see in the following image :
Arrow = ( Directed Spiritual Will is aimed at Scorpio (Lust, Lower mind)
Judas = Scorpio as he is the 8th character from the left in the Last Supper painted by Da Vinci and Scorpio rules the 8th house of Natal Chart
So it is very significant that the arrow is pointing to the sign Scorpio, with the capability of intense emotional/ lower energy although as we know from a previous article, Scorpio in their highest expression soars spiritually as the Eagle.
Psalm 64 : 7 But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.
God is shooting arrows at the thoughts that pull us down. He uses the power of spirit through his grace to do this.
(iii) The Three Decans of Sagittarius

Lyra (The Harp) First Decan of Sagittarius
When Apollo played the Harp all things were in harmony :
Apollo has been known as the God of the Sun amongst other titles and so when the Sun is passing through the Harp (ecliptic through Sagittarius), there is a harmony as man’s upper consciousness is illuminated (see ecliptic diagram above).
In scripture musical instruments = harmony within so when we are aiming our arrows (will) to the higher realms of spirit Apollo is playing his Lyre within us and we are in harmony with ourselves.
In this way we can see a relevance of these ancient myths to us today.
This verse combines the first 2 decans of Sagittarius :
Psalm 43 : 4 Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.
Vega = The brightest star in Lyra and means HE SHALL BE EXALTED. Exalted means to be raised and MUSIC is something that does that to us. The music, inner sound current that is meditated upon has the power to raise the consciousness of man.
Psalm21 : 12 Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.
arrows and strings = reference to Sagittarius
This close-up of Lyra shows a perception of that constellation as an eagle with a lyre (or harp) in its beak:
Isaiah 40 : 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
the eagle soars to the altar which is the next decan.
In summary we have the man (higher nature) coming out of his animal nature (horse) and aiming his spiritual will at the lower desires (Dragon). The music or harmony (Lyra) created by being in the spiritual allows man to soar (eagle).
2. Ara (The Altar) Second Decan of Sagittarius
One thing to notice is that the Altar is UPSIDE DOWN in the sky. This represents the spiritual fire being directed towards the earth. In personal terms it represents the spiritual fire we experience in meditation as it purges us of our sins (ignorance of God), karmas and lower desires.
This is reached as the 4th stage of consciousness. In the Gospels John said I can baptise in water but one will come who baptised with Fire (Jesus).
This fire is also talked about in the verse below :
Revelation 20 : 9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
beloved city = higher mind.
heaven = spiritual realms
devoured them = lower thoughts, our attachments to the world.
3. Draco (The Dragon Cast Down) Third Decan of Sagittarius
The dragon represents our INNER FEARS. Its is mentioned in the Book of Revelation :
Revelation 12 : 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
In reality the dragon is seen upside down in the sky . The verse above relates the dragon to the serpent & Satan (lower mind and desires).
Thuban = brightest star in the Draco constellation is a nautical star. It was used by the ancients as a navigational polar star. Thuban means SUBTLE & this implies that although the emotions are like a raging sea they come in subtle disguise and creep up on us.
We have seen that Draco relates to the lower consciousness of man and this is tied in with the emotions :
Isaiah 27 : 1 In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.
Dragon = Draco (lower consciousness)
Sea = emotions.
The sea representing the emotions is seen in the next verse :
Revelation 18 : 17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
Our emotions can be like a raging sea stirred by the dragon when it is out of control. We go to our lower nature as our desires follow the nautical star in Draco, the bright light, but then the waves of emotion drown us. In the world the bright light of materialism shines and we are attracted to it.
So when the dragon is cast out Rev 12 : 9 above, the star of Thuban in Draco no longer shines in us so the merchants (lower desires) cannot find domination as our consciousness is raised and the dragon within us cast out. In the above verse Rev 18: 17 this is what it means when it refers to the merchants (lower desires) standing off; their power no longer controls us.
(iv) Summary of Sagittarius Spiritual Path
In summary we have the man (higher nature) coming out of his animal nature (horse) and aiming his spiritual energy & will (bow and arrow) at the lower desires (Dragon). The music or harmony created by being in the spiritual realms allows man to soar (Eagle) after the sacrifice on the altar (Ara) by spiritual fire and the lower nature (Draco) is cast out.
