A Practical Study of Past Lives & Reincarnation Part 1

This very detailed article called ‘A Practical Study of Past Lives & Reincarnation Part 1’ is the first in a 4 part series covering an extensive project by members of the Lifewave Meditation Group in the 1980s. Various people (who had been Initiated into the Spiritual Light and Sound) were regressed back to previous lives and this process revealed extensive information on the development of their own soul as well as information about the spiritual planes of consciousness and The Hierarchy of Beings. Their names have been removed to preserve anonymity.

INTRODUCTION

Nothing can be more exciting than to realise that this life stretches back before birth and far into the future beyond one’s ‘apparent’ death. The facts of reincarnation are now well established, thanks to the pioneers working in the fields of psychology and hypnosis. So many thousands of individuals have been given past lifetime experiences that it is hard even for the most ardent sceptic to not believe in it.

The information contained in this book is startling, for the research covers entirely new ground. Be prepared to stop in your tracks and think hard about the nature of your existence! It is true to say that all individuals need, in whatever way, wide horizons to be opened up in their lives. This may be for some a trip to the disco, a journey abroad, or for others high flights of mystical thought. We deal with some of the widest, biggest horizons imaginable, except that these are real!

All the material presented to the reader is based upon hypnotic regressions into the past lives of a variety of subjects. Standard techniques of hypnosis have been used throughout. For those familiar with such techniques it should be said that the ‘far memory’ of people is inviolate, all have it, and it cannot be tampered with by the subject under hypnosis.

Such regressions open a door into another world that can only be sampled by actually stepping into it. But it is just one door into this world of greater knowledge that religions the world over have attempted to prise open for so long. This book has been written on behalf of the Lifewave Organisation but we would not wish the reader to think that it is attempting an indoctrination of the principles taught in the spiritual schools

Instead, every effort has been made to present reincarnation in a more ‘in depth’ manner than has been attempted. We have pushed back the frontiers of knowledge so far gained, our tremendous confidence in the subject stems from our great teacher Ishvara. A confidence that enables us to go far beyond the scope of ordinary hypnosis. What we have to tell is a magnificent story of Man’s development and unfoldment through successive ages.

There is usually a dominant theme developed with each regression and this is stated in the titles below. For the first two subjects we see how a difference in spiritual development whilst on earth, in a physical body, can lead to a completely different experience of the death process.

SUBJECT  1

(EXPERIENCE OF PHYSICAL DEATH IN CHINA)

The first page of  this story is about the death of an individual, considered the end for so many, for us the beginning! The subject is……from Leeds. The death state that we want to consider is during her incarnation in China some six hundred and fifty years ago. She is married to an important government official, living in a big house with a beautiful garden having three children. In this society death is accepted quite happily due to the philosophies taught at this time and she spends time meditating, learning to be at peace with herself. Death occurs at quite a young age from a heart condition, and it is this experience that is important. During the regression, as the death trauma is re-lived, the subject is clearly aware of lying on her deathbed, her family around her.

As is common to all subjects taking their death knowledge, there are the usual feelings of apprehension and uncertainty when it is clear that ‘this is it’. In this case this is short lived, however, due partly to her cultural background and partly to her meditative insights. Soon death ensues and she is able to follow through quite clearly the transition from her physical state to that of literally floating away from her body, still lying on the bed, and feeling immensely relieved to find that she does still ‘exist’! This experience continues for a while, just floating about in a bodiless state, feeling very good, and looking ‘down’ upon herself. Eventually, this gives way to a sensation of ‘expanding’ far away from any physical world connection and going to a very large place which shines with a light of its own, in which she feels very blissful and is taught and assisted by other ‘beings’ with bodies of light!

The value of such an event is inestimable because it shows that with death every individual passes beyond the physical form into a ‘real’, substantial existence. Obviously the implications of this are great, but what we would really like to consider are the factors involved in death. Three ingredients are discernable: firstly the ability to pass beyond the physical form indicates quite clearly that there are other bodies than the physical form we know so well; then there are the worlds we are conveyed to, within the bodies after death; finally, the beings or intelligences that exist on the worlds.

The bodies and the levels are an area of study complete in themselves and to explain them properly would take an entire book. It is enough at this stage to realise that what we become aware of after death is available to us in life also! Every second of our lives we spend making use of bits of the after death state faculties. The death experiences of many people indicate an expansion away from the world. The life of every individual is rooted in worlds that are far bigger than the earth life we normally know. We have need to realise that man is essentially a spiritual creature and whilst his life is spent looking at the world of form, his nature is quite, quite different.

One way of looking at this is to notice that we can learn to understand about subjects of intricate complexity, much bigger, more intangible than anything on the earth. This is simply because man has such a’vastness’ in his faculties, the astronomer proves this when he studies planets and their relationships millions of miles distant. To understand such events he has to have a faculty that can contain all this. Such a faculty is realised, stripped of its subtle disguises when a person dies because as with this subjects experience, death brings an expansion with it far beyond the physical universe that we know!

Tradition tends to categorise the vehicles of man in various ways. ‘Vehicle’ is a convenient word indicating that the individual’s spiritual essence is contained in a particular fashion. We are all familiar with the mental and emotional ‘vehicle’ as well as the physical, but other vehicles exist which, are harder to come to terms with.

These include the etheric vehicle, higher mental, buddhic and atmic. The etheric states deal with nerve energies and the distribution of man’s psychic energies; the higher mental deals, as the name implies, with an ability to think in a much more direct abstract way; the buddhic gives the ability to ‘know’ in an instant through direct insight and is thus higher than higher mental. Finally, the atmic vehicle’ is the access each individual has with the pure spiritual worlds which lie far beyond the worlds of matter. These spiritual worlds exist as regions of pure light, give life to the lower vehicles and ‘fuel’ all existences in the world. Each ‘vehicle’ draws its own energy from the ‘level’ or ‘world! to which it relates.

Thus the emotional or astral vehicle is comprised of matter from the astral level itself in the same way in which the physical body is comprised of physical matter  from the physical world.

Such a classification does have a drawback, simply that most individuals are orientated in the astral and lower mental worlds. In today’s society, higher mind and buddhic development is exceptionally rare, seen occasionally in people like Albert Einstein! It is for this reason that we discern in the after death states two distinct phases; firstly the sensation of floating around, perhaps looking at one’s dead body, perhaps feeling sympathy with relatives left behind. Secondly, that of ‘expanding’ into a higher region as happened in the case we have looked at. These represent definite expansions into the astral world and then into a higher more ‘neutral’ region. Here again the drawback with such systems of classification is that they give quite an unreliable impression of the realities experienced under hypnosis or in higher meditation. The idea of a ‘mental’ body dealing with the commoner areas of incisive thinking and integration is quite unrelated to the experiences gained under hypnosis when the bodies can be seen for themselves when separated out. The realities of these subjects can only be partially understood, at the end of the day they must be experienced!

On the subject of levels of creation it is very often observed that people who are regressed, on going into the death state, will pass from the astral to the mental state via a long tunnel, to emerge into a world of light. Similarly, those who have undergone ‘ operating table death’ have witnessed a similar effect as they pass from a more bodily orientated experience into a higher level, albeit to be recalled by the resuscitation of their physical form. So it is apparent that definite ‘cut offs’ exist between these levels of creation. The long dark tunnel effect occurs in more worldly orientated people who are unable to either concentrate to a sufficient degree to ascend very quickly and hence the ‘cut off’ or barrier between levels is witnessed; or they have insufficient higher development to pass into the higher levels at all. Such an effect is seen in the many documented cases of ghosts where existence is concentrated into the astral state after death creating an earth bound soul.

The criteria to be examined revolve completely around the development undertaken during life and have complete influence on the after death states discussed. Subject 1 has no ‘long dark tunnel’ effect because in her past lifetime she practised a higher development with meditation. She thus passed rapidly away from her body at death, expanding so quickly through the barrier that is represented by the tunnel. Conversely, the person who spends a lifetime steeped in excessive drinking and lower pleasures takes a long, long time passing through the tunnel and may indeed spend quite a few years in the more earthbound, astral state.

SUBJECT  2

(EXPERIENCE OF PHYSICAL DEATH IN EGYPT)

To illustrate the point of higher development we have Subject 2 , a designer from Bournemouth, who in an incarnation in Egypt some four thousand years ago is involved in the priesthood. He is a priestess in this lifetime working with skills of divination and seership. Such is the extent to which he spends this incarnation out of his body astral travelling that in returning to this time under hypnosis it is with extreme difficulty that his body can be discerned at all. Death is not known about either in a normal sense because the link with the physical body is so weak after years of dissociation from it. The only knowledge that death has occurred is because of the ‘expansion’ very rapidly into the higher, non material worlds, as energies are released from the body.

In studying these death states we come to realise that we are dealing with very subtle energy states, the levels beyond form being energy ‘bands’ of progressively finer and finer natures. But to call these worlds energy states is again a misnomer compared to the realities of sitting in these worlds under hypnosis or in meditation. These worlds are vast and contain the energies which give life to the world as we know it. Yet from the viewpoint of higher meditation the after death worlds are the very lowest in a panorama of breathtaking size and beauty. Little wonder then that man intuitively recognises such limits of material life and yearns at times for his real ‘home’.

These worlds are populated with the higher beings that ‘teach’ mankind, not just at death but at all times. These beings represent higher intelligences for, as we have seen, as we pass into the higher worlds then we encounter more direct means of ‘knowing’. Apart from any other consideration these beings supervise humanity because they are free from the bonds of matter that man is sunk in and have the vision that man does not. These beings are comprised of the matter from the worlds that they inhabit and are considerably older than the humanity on the planet at the present time.

They appear to subjects of regression as beings of light because this is the nature of the worlds they come from. In most cases these beings come down from still higher worlds to meet death state souls. So we start to realise that humanity is still developing, being able to go to certain levels or worlds but no higher. The higher beings represent degrees of development that are quite possible to mankind, having freedom and Lordship (The Lords of Light) over the levels. But for man to have this development society needs to be quite different, offering direct insights into these worlds. The ‘task’ of such beings then is to move humanity on, wherever possible to higher realisations. Partly by creating material lessons for man to learn from but largely by developing, after death, the vehicles and therefore the faculties of each person. So many subjects felt very happy to have these insights and to realise that in a huge task, that of developing themselves, they are not alone .

This important point was emphasised in the their first message to start a new Lightwave of Initiations in 2015:

16th February 2015

“We want you to start the Path again. Can you see how big this is?

We did tell you – go with it.

We will give you all the help you need.

This needs to be done – We are working behind the scenes.

Do the Initiations, all of them –

We are here to guide you”.

“YOU ARE NEVER ALONE”
