Understanding Memory
This is more complicated than people think as you have the Conscious and Unconscious Memories.
The Unconscious ones being from a multitude of lives which are stored and used to help work through Karmic Issues. Also most childhood Memories are Unconscious meaning that a young child cannot look at events in his life with enough understanding and clarity to store them in his Conscious Memory.
Moving on to the Conscious Memory…. Just as thoughts come and go, memories come and go also. Happy or sad Memories are there for people to pick up and put down at their leisure. The happiest ones are usually the shared Memories of events and family occasions. In fact most Memories are shared – imagine walking in the park and looking at the scenery. Many people would have that Memory.
So Memories are not the individual things that most people think they are, just as thoughts are not.
Science is just beginning to realize that Memories are NOT stored in the brain. The brain acts a “switchboard” allowing us to access Memories; sometimes this can be difficult. The well established pathways endure the longest and provide what we refer to as long term Memory. Whereas, the more recent events in a person’s life are retrieved using lesser routes – short term Memory. This is a bit like Motorways and minor roads.
As with a road system if there is a blockage you can take an alternative route – this what happens when you struggle to recall a particular event. It also explains how a brain having incurred physical damage can, in time, operate alternative pathways.
The Memories themselves are stored in the Higher Dimensions. This is how a person having incurred an NDE can recall information from a time when their brain was totally dormant.
Memories can also be accessed using hypnosis and meditation. The Akashic Records, however, require much deeper forms of Meditation that require Consciousness of the Spiritual Realms using Light and Sound.
