Introducing the Root Races: A Journey of Consciousness

This series begins by introducing the Root Races and is intended as a guide to humanity’s forgotten evolutionary journey through consciousness, form, and subsequent awakening.

It invites the reader to look beyond conventional history and explore the great stages through which human awareness has descended into matter and now begins its return to Light.

Humanity did not arrive suddenly or fully formed. It unfolded.

  • The concept of the root races describes the great stages through which human consciousness has passed during its long journey on Earth.
  • These are not races in the modern sense, nor do they relate to genetics, culture, or superiority. They are stages of awareness, ways in which consciousness learned to inhabit form, experience separation, and ultimately remember its true nature.
  • Each root race represents a distinct mode of being. Early humanity existed in subtle, non-physical or semi-physical forms, deeply attuned to the Earth and to each other.
  • Over vast periods of time, consciousness gradually condensed into matter, developing individuality, intellect, emotion, and will.
  • This process reached its deepest point in our current 5th stage, where physicality, ego, and mental activity dominate experience.
  • From this point onward, the journey reverses. Consciousness begins to reawaken within matter, carrying the wisdom gained through embodiment.
  • Future root races represent not an escape from the physical world, but a refinement of it, where matter becomes transparent to awareness rather than a barrier to it.

“The root races are not a story about the past. They are a mirror of where we have been, where we stand now, and where we are going.”

  • People may feel a natural resonance with particular stages of this journey. This sense of recognition is not imagination. It arises because consciousness itself remembers the paths it has already walked.

Was the Earth Physically Formed When the Root Races Began?

No, not in the way we understand “physical” today.

“Earth was not yet a solid planet. It was a field in formation.”

When Did  Earth Become Physical?

It was only gradually, through the Hyperborean and then Lemurian phases, that:

  • Density increased

  • Atmosphere stabilised

  • Continents and oceans formed

  • Physical bodies became possible.

“Humanity did not arrive on a finished planet. Humanity and Earth matured together.”

A clarification for Readers

“These teachings do not contradict science. They describe a different layer of reality.”

  • Science studies matter after it solidifies.
  • The root races describe consciousness before and during solidification.
  • Both perspectives can coexist without conflict.

This series explores each root race in turn, not as mythology, but as a map of inner evolution. Here is a summary:

Introducing the Root Races

Does the Cycle Repeat once the Seventh Root Race has Ended ?

“Yes, the process is cyclical, but not repetitive. It is spiral, not circular.

The journey repeats in form, but never in consciousness.”

  • Humanity does move through cycles of descent and return, embodiment and awakening. However, each cycle unfolds at a higher octave of understanding. What returns is not what left.

So while the pattern repeats, the level of awareness does not reset.

The Spirals of the Root Races

The root races follow a clear arc:

  • Early races descend into form

  • Middle races experience separation and individuality

  • Later races reintegrate Spirit within form

At the end of the Seventh Root Race, the human cycle on Earth completes.

What does not happen is a return to the Polar Race as it was.

“ The Polar state is not revisited as innocence, but transformed into wisdom.”

Introducing the Root Races

Why is the Spiralling Nature of the Root Races Significant?

If the process were purely cyclical:

  • Growth would be meaningless

  • Suffering would repeat endlessly

  • Awakening would be temporary

But because the cycle is spiral:

  • Experience is integrated

  • Wisdom accumulates

  • Awakening becomes permanent

This is why the Seventh Root Race does not dissolve humanity back into formlessness. Instead, it represents Spirit fully embodied, not Spirit escaping matter.

A Metaphor for the Spiralling Root Races

Imagine walking up a mountain by following a circular path.

You pass the same views again and again.
But each time, you are higher.

“ That is the evolution of consciousness.”

Is this Relevant to the Light and Sound Meditator?

“ For the Light and Sound meditator, the root races explain why inner experiences unfold as they do.”

  • Light and Sound meditation reconnects awareness with levels of consciousness that predate the thinking mind.
  • When meditators encounter vast spaces, ancient familiarity, or a sense of having lived before form, they are touching layers of awareness shaped long before the present human stage.
  • Understanding the root races provides context for these experiences. It reassures the meditator that awakening is not an anomaly, but a natural continuation of an evolutionary arc that is now turning inward.

” This path is not new. It is remembered.”

In meditation, you may notice:

  • Familiar states that feel ancient

  • Sounds or Light that seem remembered rather than discovered

  •  This is because meditation accesses earlier layers of the spiral, now seen from a higher vantage point.
