(v) Shemhamphorasch Angels of the Two of Disks

Lacabel: Talent for solving life’s enigmas. Lucidity. Luminous ideas creating abundance. Material order. Respects stages and life-cycles, plans for the long-term. Microcosmic processes.

Vasariah: Clemency and benevolence. Respect for law. Ebb and flow of spiritual benevolence and material burdens.

(vi) Astrology of the Two of Disks

1.  Decan = 1st decan of Capricorn (0 – 10 °) ruled by Jupiter.

2. Jupiter in Capricorn

Jupiter rules the major arcana card ‘FORTUNE’ or wheel of fortune in the Rider Waite deck, which is all about karmic change:

This is potentially an inharmonious relationship. Jupiter is all about philosophy and expansion whilst Capricorn wants everything to be conservative and practical. It does not work out too bad as we are high up on the tree of life in the supernal triangle.

(vii) Symbology of the Two of Disks

Yin Yang = change is the only thing in our material world that we can depend on as well as death ! So we have to learn to go with the flow in our life and trust in this process of change so that we might find harmony and balance.

Top Disk = rotates to the left

Bottom Disk = rotates to the right

Not all change is easy so we have to trust that what lies ahead is for our greater good.

4 elements = these are in the eyes of each disk

Fire & Water =  (active & passive)  are in the upper disk

Air & Earth = (active & passive) are in the lower disk

Serpent = coils around the yin yang symbols and represents the constant infinite motion that characterises life. It is also a symbol for the wisdom of Chockmah = the wisdom of the universe.

∞ sign = change is never-ending

Crown = 7 points relating to the 7th sephiroth ruled by VENUS = LOVE

Octagonal spots on snake = 8 relating to 8th sephiroth ruled by Mercury representing WILL (The Magician)

***LOVE UNDER WILL …. the main theme of THELEMA***

“Love is the Law, Love under Will”

(viii) Quotes from the Book of Thoth

“One may in fact consider the card as the complete manifested universe” (p.212)

regards the serpent.. “He forms the figure eight, the symbol of the infinite, the equation 0=2”  (p.212)

This is THELEMIC philosophy and simplifying this

0 = refers to the cancelling out of opposites as we move from duality of matter to union with spirit

2 = going from spirit to duality

There are Thelemic  mathematics which combine the two values into the equation 0 = 2 but the principal is the interconnectedness of ALL THAT IS.

The full mathematical workings can be found in the following link

(ix) Summary of the Two of Disks

From the elements (or the seeds of life)  we have the manifested ever-changing universe (yin/yang) directed by love under will (snake with crown)

(x) Divinatory Meanings of the Two of Disks

Two of Disks Upright

We have to learn to go with the flow in our life and trust in this process of change so that we might find harmony and balance.

Constant change in fortunes makes projects difficult to get off the ground.

Nothing financially or materially set in stone at the moment.

(Harmony within the suit of disks)

The Two of Pentacles brings you back down to earth and reminds you to not only focus on your spiritual life goals but to also make sure your day-to-day affairs are in order.

This is a card of good management of your practical affairs and finances. It may sound tedious having to focus your attention on these more mundane issues but this card reminds you that sometimes getting on top of your daily affairs is as important as pursuing your more enjoyable life goals.

Two of Disks Reversed

Not going with the flow in your life and resulting lack of harmony and balance. Trying to manipulate events too much.

Reckless spending.

Finances and practical matters are not in balance.

Changes at this moment in time not seemingly for the better.

(xi) Affirmation for the Two of Disks
