(i) 1st Revelation Verse1 to Verse 10 Scripture Interpretation

1st Revelation Verse1 to Verse 10 begins to look at the esoteric significance of the seven churches in the Book of Revelations.

1st Revelation Verse1 to Verse 10

1. The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

“Shew” means show. The text states that things would SHORTLY come to pass, and this was written 2000 years ago, even though many are still waiting for it to happen. By servants is meant our minds, our lower nature & must become the servant to the message of spirit and Christ within. So our minds become our servants rather than directing us into the chaos of the world.

2. Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.

3 .Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

This verse repeats that the time is at hand and means it was happening at or around the time, not starting 2000+ years hence as some religious people would have us believe.  So at hand refers to the ETERNAL NOW. The spiritual path is always open for us to embrace, it did not begin and end 2000 years ago it always has been and always will be.

In verse 3 the word “prophecy” is used and it did not always mean the future. It could mean a poem, a song, a lecture.

The words that are used are not random but they are esoteric words of wisdom.

Romans 8

6. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

So our human mind cannot obey the law of God. No matter what we do in a worldly sense, we cannot obey Gods will. The peace of spirit can only be known through meditation on the emptiness and stillness of God within. This is what Jesus meant when he said “take no thought”. No thought can get us to God as we see from verse 7 above. So the mind can never know God, but by being in ‘higher mind’ and having our thoughts directed towards the path of finding God this is the best use of our mind and the senses or lower nature.

Revelation 1:

4. John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;

The book of revelation has extensive examples of NUMEROLOGY. All the numbers have meaning, they are not random. The 7 churches are symbols for the 7 spinal centres called ‘chakras’. This book is a very mystical book which draws on ancient teachings like much of the bible. The 7 spirits are the 7 breaths, which are the live spirit within us.

5. And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

The faithful witness because he is the ‘word’ or the God part of us, which when awakened connects us with God. Hindus meditate on the inner sound, this was known as the word of God or soundless sound as it is not heard with the physical ears. As we meditate on the inner light of God we see the Christ within, and we witness him as he witnesses each one of us.

The first begotten of the dead washed us from our sins refers to the 5 senses. Blood esoterically means that which comes from within him or his spirit. So when we meditate on Gods light within, we go beyond the sins of the flesh and the 5 senses. In the bible this is represented by the 5 stones in the story of David and Goliath.

7. Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

The whole basis for Christianity is that Jesus is coming again but they have not looked at what Jesus actually said:

Luke 17:

20. And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:

21. Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

So we are never going to see Jesus coming back through the clouds as religion teaches.

In mysticism clouds means the ‘spirit’. So he comes within us as the ‘spirit’.

Every EYE shall see him means the single eye, in Hindu it is seen as a red dot on the forehead called the Bindi.

This is discussed in the bible:

Matthew 6:

22. The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

This is the point of consciousness where we meditate on the spiritual light within. So we do not see Jesus physically with two eyes, we see him spiritually with the single eye.

“And those which pierced him” means those who have lifted themselves up into the spiritual light beyond thought. It does not matter what your background, religious or not, those that pierce the mystical realms will see him.

“all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him” means those that dwell of the earth, or the lower nature, will always be bound to guilt, anxiety and the stresses of daily living. They wail because they have missed him. They have not found him in the world and they are stuck in matter, the earth and their lower nature. They have not meditated upon the bliss and peace within and beyond thought.

Revelation 1:

8. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Jesus is the beginning and the end, the involution and the evolution of creation, The Tao. The beginning and the end are one circle, endless, infinite. ‘I am’ is the name of God, pure being ness. Exodus 3,14 God said to Moses “ I am that I am” God takes the name ‘I Am’ because when we say it, it reminds us of the divine presence within us and that it is something that is not separate from us. Spirit is the Alpha or the beginning of our existence and the Omega or that which we return to. The bride of the lamb is the pituitary gland, the lamb is the pineal gland. The close relationship between spirit & the endocrine system has been known down the ages. The alpha and omega is the cycle of the zodiac encompassing the 4 seasons. We need to meditate deeply to realise our divinity.

9. I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Patmos is a small Greek island to which John was exiled. The island is separated from that which is the world and this symbolises that John lives within himself. When we enter into meditation we are on an island separated from worldly things. In life we can say that no man is an island meaning that we need others as part of our human nature, but in spirit we stand alone and yet are within everyone. So the divine island within us is the spiritual realms we contact when we meditate.

Patmos, the root Pat means ‘unyielding, not moving or resisting change’ from the thesaurus. So in meditation need to be unyielding in the sense we stand our ground and wait like John in the nothingness of meditation, apart from the world and our worldly senses.

10. I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,

In the spirit means in higher consciousness or meditation.

Genesis 1:

5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.

So the Lords day means within the light of meditation and higher consciousness. So by meditating on the light within we are in Gods presence just like John.
